I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. McIntosh at an event for Pastor's. This is the first of his books that I have read and I found it to be very insightful. Even though we are not a church in crisis we were able to identify some trends described in this book that were leading us in that direction. This assessment has lead us to refocus our ministry on growth and sharing the Gospel. I recommend this book to all Pastors, particularly those in ministries that have plateaued or are declining. And for leaders who are thinking of closing their churches please read this book first, there's still hope for your Church.
This is an excellent book for those contemplating transitioning in ministry. It is full of substance and thought to provoke information that will guide you in your decisions regarding ministry. Take your time reading it so that you can digest its contents.
Excellent read! Gary McIntosh, has found a reserved space on my bookshelf. This book is full of practical teaching for the struggling church. Revitalization is important but hard to do when you're running in constant survival mode. McIntosh defines problems and solutions to encourage and build hope for your church.
I read this book on a flight home and was struck by it's relevance and practical application. This is a book for church leaders that are ready to read it, then return to it chapter by chapter and go on a journey toward revitalization with a trusted friend.
It is a very resourceful book for Pastors, Ministers and leaders in the church to know that we don't grow the church it is our God is the one to add on to the church. Great Book!
What an excellent book. I can't say enough about it. This book will be required reading in Bible college and Seminary courses on church revitalization. I have personally benefited from this book and will highly recommend it to many other pastors and ministers. You won't be disappointed. Dr. McIntosh guides the reader through a simple, but effective plan of church revitalization. A Must Read!
