I am extremely disappointed in this book! I was looking forward to the book, as I am a fan of the author’s previous Badass books, but this is definitely not a “buy” book. The book is very tiny & the majority of the pages are only 1/2 filled with text & numerous pages just have one line sentences. I have seriously seen blog posts longer than this book. Also, the previous books are colorful with text & page colors but this book is very bland... just plain.

For everyone complaining that this isn’t an “actual book” or that it’s “too short” - it literally says in the description that it’s a daily inspiration/pocket guide and that it’s not a full fledged book. Perhaps the smaller book is necessary because clearly some reading comprehension skills are lacking here? ;)Joking aside, it’s an amazing little book. If you’re already in the “badass mindset” it’s likely all things you’ve heard before, but this book is meant to be what it says, daily motivation to help you stay on track with tips and exercises to refresh your inspiration/manifestation. I think each page is filled with amazing helpful content, gives you real life exercises to try and helpful reminders to stay on track. I loved it, Jen is amazing. If you haven’t read any of her other books then go read those first, but this is great as an addition to your manifesting/badassery collection.

I absolutely LOVED “You are a Badass” I gave it 5 stars. I was excited an pre-ordered this book on Amazon. I feel like it was a bunch of stuff thrown together haphazardly, mostly bits from other authors. No structure to this at all. Nothing new content wise. To add insult to injury she keeps calling you “Grasshopper” as if she is some guru. It would have been fine in the first book when I thought she was a guru however this book kinda had the opposite effect for me. I really wanted to like it, bummer.

ALL the reviews nail it. This book is not a compendium of fresh information - it is as Jen writes, a book that helps folks already well versed in personal development books USE what’s been gleaned, to take from read to learned to LIVED. Strikes me that its greatest use is as a page & cover book - one you can pick up & flip through - rather than a digital read or Mim. As someone who has read/listened/watched my fair share of resources, this current book offers the prompts to DO what I already know. Her previous books provided high-grade fuel to fire up my inner Corvette; “...Every Day” provides the focus - the KEY - to flip on the ignition & get my moves on!

This is a review coming from someone who has read all of Jen's books! This is a great book! But it is different than her others. Yes, it is shorter snippets of info and less beating around the bush if you will. But it really expands on her wisdom and humor in a way that a current Jen fan will appreciate. I suggest reading "You Are a Badass" and "You Are a Badass at Making Money" first. You will then have the mindset for this book. Great daily advice that is similar to things I've heard before but in different ways of looking at them. I am glad I purchased this book.

Unfortunately this book is nothing compared to her Other books 😕 I absolutely love her two other books and think they are amazing. This is super basic and not for someone who has done any work on themselves already which i would imagine is most of her audience. So sad bc was very excited to dive into another of her books

I love Jen Sincero, or I would probably rate this even lower :( . I was maybe too excited to see a brand new book by Jen that I expected too much. It felt like a very brief rehash of the previous two excellent books, or a “book for books sake”. I do understand that it’s supposed to be a book of doable daily snippets but they feel only partially hashed out, incomplete, and rushed. A lot of white space throughout. I’d say, if you have to have this one, wait until the price possibly goes lower because it feels really overpriced for what it is right now (being brand new). I also want to say that it’s possible I just don’t like this “daily messages” layout and that my review is based on that preference. Jen is a wonderful writer and is really great at getting your mind and motivations stirring, so I do still recommend checking it out. Just know what you’re getting.

This book was not meant to be read in one sitting. It's more like a daily devotional with bite size nuggets of wisdom to meditate on and remind you that you are a badass every day. Also, I find it easier to apply one concept at a time versus reading an entire book in a day and getting nothing from it. I haven't finished it, but so far, I find it to be absolutely delightful. If you're familiar with books like Don't Sweat The Small Stuff...and it's all small stuff, you'll enjoy this little jewel as well. In my opinion, this is a book that's best purchased as a hard copy due to how it's designed to be read. It's also a great book to have on your coffee table for others to enjoy. :)

These traps include: Doing Digital vs Being Digital; FANG Trap; "Boiling the Ocean"; and the Denial Trap.The discussion of a new digital business model based on Abundance is an interesting way of recognizing the reality of digital and its impact on business economics.Challenges:The book posits a number of different themes that compete with each other in the first few chapters. This makes the first section choppy as you are not sure what this book is about as it ranges from lag between technology and business growth, luddism, technology supremacy, etc. It is like each author had their own idea and they were mixed together at the start. I would suggest skimming the first three chapters as the meat starts in chapter 4 -- The New Machine.Chapter 5 on data is rather weak and limited, particularly in light of the rest of the book that demonstrates that the authors have thought through other issuesDigital Business Models was rather standard. Ideas about automation, making things smart, enhancing human beings, digital abundance and discovering innovation opportunities is rather generic even with a chapter devoted to each model. Developing these model in the idea of Systems of Intelligence would have been really nice and pulled the book together.This book is written by three authors related to Cognizant, a technology services and consulting firm. Reading the book with this in mind is important.

It all depends on leadership in the end. One possible criticism. I am not quite as optimistic on the future of jobs as the Authors. Still, let's hope they are right!

Instead of painting a dark picture about the future that is coming with the machines, the authors show how can we improve ourselves and our companies in order to get ahead in the future. By the way, that future is already happening. There is a burger place in San Francisco where robots prepare the burgers. But I'm optimistic that there still will be need for people.

John Curran is an expert on Agatha Christie (1890-1976) the maven of murder. Christie's books have sold more volumes than any other books published with the exception of the Bible and the Shakespeare canon. This book is the second volume on Dame Agatha';s works. The first book in the two volume set is ":Agatha Christie": Secret Notebooks.". In this second volume Curran prints for the first time an unpublished version of ":The Caretaker';s Wife": a short story featuring Miss Marple the elderly amateur sleuth who knows all the secrets of her village ":St. Mary Mead": He also looks at the most notable novels and short stories written by Christie for each decade from the 1920s through the 1970s. This section of the book can become tedious if you have not read the stories under examination. This part of the book reads best if you look at the review and working methods of Christie just after you have read the book being discussed. Dame Agatha kept her best ideas contained in over seventy notebooks. She was chaotic in her preparation for future stories and novels but produced the best detective stories produced in the popular genre. Christie often listed possible characters and plot developments in her notebooks. She also used her considerable knowledge of poisons. Curran includes Dame Agatha';s article on the creation of Hercule Poirot. Agatha Christie was a genius of light whodunit fiction. The world is a better place because of her.John Curran has done a fine job in making her works more accessible to a new generation of readers. Recommended.

This definitely wasn't written by Agatha Christie

I ordered both of John Curran's books about Agatha Christie's journals. The hype for this one was "an unseen Miss Marple story."That was true, as the character of Miss Marple was inserted in a previously published Christie story (which had been published in both short story and novel forms). The story was improved by adding Miss Marple, but it was still only a revised story. I bought both of Curran's books mostly to read the "new" stories he included. If other readers are thinking of the same thing, they can avoid disappointment by not ordering either book. Both books had a fair amount of rambling and repeated ideas. As an ardent Christie fan, I want to read more interesting works about her.

This book is of interest for serious Christie fans. I have read all of Agatha Christie books numerous times. About every two to three years, I start from the beginning and read them all again. I also have the Bedside Companion book which tells a little about each book. This just adds to my enjoyment and knowledge of her thinking, her methods, and of course, the books themselves. Don't read this book until you read the Christie mysteries or you will learn the endings.

Bought this to help prepare for a lecture on Christie's archaeology related books. Very interesting to see her quickly formulate her books. I only wish she had dated these notes!

Very interesting, a fast, easy read. I was surprised to find that Dame Agatha's handwriting was not the neatest, nor was her recordkeeping. Ideas for stories/books were found in multiple notebooks. It's a wonder they ever got pulled together into best sellers, but it put her in a more human light. Maybe there is hope for all amateur authors. Thoroughly enjoyed the book and recommend it to all fans of Agatha Christie, though I missed being able to make notations in the margins.
