Ryan Walter is an assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League. He played more than 1,000 games over 15 seasons with the Washington Capitals, Montreal Canadiens, and Vancouver Canucks. He served as vice president of the National Hockey League Players Association, was honored as the NHL Man of the Year in 1992, and played in the NHL all-star game in 1993. Walter has also served as captain of team Canada in the World Junior tournament and played for team Canada in four World Championships. He has worked as a consultant for several NHL teams and a television analyst for NHL broadcasts. Walter lives in British Columbia, Canada. Mike Johnston is the head coach of the Portland Winter Hawks of the Western Hockey League. Johnston guided Canada to two World Junior Championships as an assistant coach and won three Spengler Cup gold medals as coach of the Canada Selects. He served in various capacities, including head coach and general manager, with Canada's gold medal–winning national team from 1994 to 1999. In five of the six seasons he coached the Vancouver Canucks, they finished with over 90 points, and on two occasions they surpassed the 100-point mark. In 2004, the Canucks won the Northwest Division Championship. I picked this book up as someone who is just getting into adult recreational league hockey. Having been a fan of the NHL for the past 20 years, most of the terminology was familiar to me, but the book should be quite approachable for anyone. Even if you have no plans in coaching, I think you can benefit from the concepts and ideas which will provide you with a general overview of how hockey players are distributed and their offensive/defensive roles. In my experience, drop-in and novice league play aren't the most organized, but you can make your game more efficient by knowing general strategies in different situations.

This book is so awesome. I wish I had this book when I played in high school. My coaches were really good and taught us most of this, but it wasn't quite in order like this. I bought the Kindle edition, which had flaws in that the diagram description for the previous figure show with the diagram after it due to formatting issues. I still liked it, but it took work to remember what goes with what. I bought the paper version now too so I can see the diagrams with the description at the same time.

I've been having my Pee Wee hockey playing son read a chapter every week before his game and saw an immediate improvement after one chapter. He's a defenseman and his current coach doesn't spend enough time teaching tactics and strategy. He now teaching his teammates the techniques he's picked up from the book. The book has a nice combination of text and diagrams, so even if their comprehension or attention span is limited, the pictures reinforce and simplify the verbiage.

This book is amazing! We have been using it with our two youth hockey players over the past couple of weeks as part of their day-off ice training. Both players are starting to recognize developing plays and situations on the ice, and are reacting better. Albeit, this book will not make them the next Crosby, it is helping them to learn various plays when in the offensive and defensive zones. This is helping them get "hockey smart", and by being able to read the developing plays, they are making better choices on the ice!I will be eager to see what their individual "playing levels" look like in a month or two, and compare the differences. A well written book, plenty of play diagrams, and explanations are easy to understand. A great off-ice training guide, to get hockey players to "think" about the game.

I bought this for my son in law who is a high school hockey coach and has coached hockey for 15 years in various minor leagues.This book was a hit .Little did I know that he has had this same book and has worn out the pages but underlining notes over the years. It was his so called coaching bible. He could not believe that I picked the same book that he had been using and was very happy to get a new one to replace the one he had been worn out and was still using.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It's the sort of book you can flip through from time-to-time, before a hockey practice or game, to refresh yourself on tips and tricks. I liked how the pages were large and the plays easy to read because of that. Highly recommend for a beginner like me... or someone more experienced looking for plays and strategies for the awesome game of hockey! :)

New asst coach pee wee level and I am learning tons and running drills per the book . would highly recommend it to any coach at any level to refresh and learn new stuff. breaks down all aspects of the game and in all zones if it could only help me deal with the attention span of a 12 year old I would be all set.

There is even occasional humor and thought provoking questions. I learned so much from this I didn't know. For example, in Genesis 6, there is a genealogy from Adam to Noah. This commentary pointed out that the definitions of those names put together makes a sentence that predicts the Messiah.The down side is definitely the spelling and grammar errors, of which there are many. Sometimes it seems a little preachy, but these negatives do not outweigh the beauty and Jewish flavor of this commentary. I very much enjoyed it and hope they do more of the Tanakh.

Some teachers study years to understand the language and symbolism of the Jewish Old Testament. I appreciate this writing because I do not choose to learn Aramac or Hebrew. I especially like the clear prose, and the explanations chapter by chapter. This is an interesting bible study help, and it was free! Can't beat that!

Will see what other errors there are, if any, as I dig deeper.I do like that the end notes are in two places: at the end of an area (no more than 2 ebook pages away) and linked to the end of the book. You can just read through the commentary if you want, or read the scripture with commentary. Like scriptures are linked together, as well.

Good book with the commentary overview from the Messianic perspective. Helpful in the research of Hebrew words and phrases needed to understand more of the Hebrew roots movement. It is a great addition to my library.

Such delicious recipes!!! Every one a winner!!! Balsalmic chicken, Asian chicken, non-fried "fried" chicken all wonderful. I bought this book because I need to limit fats in my diet and this book does not disappoint. But I should have bought it YEARS ago because the recipes are so great. After your married a long time (51 years for us) you can get in a rut and cook the same things in the same way decade after decade. No longer. Every week has a surprise dish in it,something from the cookbook. I love it so much I bought a second copy and gave it as a gift to my best friend..

I needed some new recipe ideas when my husband and I found out we both have high cholesterol. It's not so bad that we're taking medication, but we thought that eating healthier was necessary to avoid it in the future. This book came highly recommended, and it hasn't disappointed me yet. I highlighted all of the recipes that had ingredients we would eat and was pleasantly surprised to find that we had plenty of options.So many healthy cookbooks are filled with items that we don't like, or use random ingredients for every recipe so I would constantly be buying a million ingredients for a week's worth of meals. This book is great because a lot of the recipes use the same types of ingredients, so as long as I make sure I keep those items stocked, I'm good to go. (I'm talking broth, some packaged salmon, fresh meat, tomatoes, bell peppers, etc. - nothing crazy.) I did have to restock my spices and herbs because I never used many before. That was a little costly, but almost all of the recipes use them so they won't go to waste and they provide a lot of flavor. The recipes are really simple and pretty quick too, so I don't mind making dinner after a long day. We've really enjoyed everything so far, except for the slow cooker chicken meal they have listed here. We're not big fans of artichokes, so it was a risk going in. Anyway, this is now my everyday cookbook. We'll see if it helps our numbers!Edit 6-6-15: I've been cooking from this book (and using some other low cholesterol recipes too) for about 9 months, and I've seen a great improvement in my cholesterol numbers. My labs were actually drawn in April and all of my numbers improved. HDL improved from 46 to 61, LDL improved from 170 to 121, and the ratio improved from 5.0 to 3.48. I did add some stationary cycling in January so I'm sure that helped, but it's not like I'm doing it 7 days a week. This book has definitely helped improve our diet and saved us some money on our health insurance since I'm now in the company's preferred group.

Like this cookbook because the recipes are pretty simple and very tasty. I would recommend it if you need to change your eating habits due to health problems. I purchased it because my husband had serious heart issues and it's worth it to have a cookbook that provides nice meals that he can eat and that I enjoy too.

Good easy to read. If they made a version like this for Keto I would snap it up! We went the other way on our diet after I bought this book. Nice presentation, easy to read and nutritional values are a plus. You know what you're getting. Not a complicated presentation and ingredient lists are just enough, not too much.

Some great recipes here, with finding out my cholesterol is through the roof it was time to hunker down and see if diet will help correct it. For those, like myself, looking for suggestions to get started this is a handy manual for keeping your meals from getting boring. I recommend this book for anyone that needs to eat for health and want it to taste good.

I'm not wild about the cookbook. I bought it because my husband got a bad report on his cholesterol, and I thought this cookbook would give me a few ideas on low fat/low cholesterol meals. But I found that since we already eat very healthy, many of the recipes I already make were actually lower in fat and cholesterol than the recipes in this book. Disappointing, but I'm going to go ahead a keep it anyway. I may find a couple of recipes that I can use.

A little harder to read, but has some good recipes. What I do not like is that many of these recipes are high in carbs.

I have been recently diagnosed with higher chloesterol than normal, and I wanted to get a jump start on making some healthier decisions. This book has a lot of tasty sounding recipes. I have been slowly going through the book and making these receipes. I would recommend this book for anyone just looking to spice up their meal routine.

This book, "Stahl's Illustrated Antipsychotics," is one in a series of "Stahl's Illustrated [psychiatric texts] " and I expected it to be printed in color on quality paper like others in the series I've ordered and received. But this one is printed in black & white on cheap paper. The cost was not less than for the companion texts printed in color, and in fact the preface to this black-and-white disaster states "All concepts are illustrated in full-color images." Well, they are not, and it is a depressing and difficult book to read, because most of the pages are given over to illustrations with legends that refer you to "the pink X" and so forth, quite hard to distinguish in black and white. Perhaps this book was part of a misprinted run, but there seems no reasonable avenue to discover that. I could return the book to the seller, Amazon, but I want the information, so I would have to try an exchange, which is too much trouble for what I think is no chance of success (I could find no provision for a customized Amazon return complaint that would indicate the nature of the defect). I am annoyed with the lack of quality control of the book's publisher, Cambridge University Press, but more so with Amazon for providing no reasonable way to submit an inquiry about a defect that is probably pervasive in the stock on hand.

Nice easy reference, currently way outdated. Might want to try using Wikipedia, it would be more up to date. Otherwise, no complaints.

I've read all of the books in this series. There are quite a few books that are interconnected. Bought some, liked them enough to find the author's page and buy more. Found characters from other books and realized they were connected. Brandt Legg does an amazing job of building this world so that you feel like you are there. When one character died in another book, I felt the loss and I thought they were integral to the story. There are different dimensions that Brandt deftly navigates so the reader doesn't get lost like you do in some books. There is romance. There is a lot of political turmoil. There are heroes. There are people with special powers. There is spirituality. Not religion, soul-searching spirituality. I simply cannot say enough about how great these books are!

Gale Asher had given up her job as a successful writer for National Geographic to follow Ripley Gaines, the world-renowned archeologist, on a daring flight to protect an ancient artifact. This artifact was actually some kind of a device from over 100,000 years ago and its discovery is so controversial that the FBI, NSA and agents from the Vatican are relentlessly pursuing them. More than a dozen people have died so far in an effort to protect this artifact.This is the beginning of Brandt Legg’s second book, Consega Storm, in his epic three volume series “The Consega Sequence.” With this book the reader is given more information about the artifact and what it is. Called by Gaines the Eyesa, it appears to be some type of supercomputer that’s properties are truly staggering. For instance, in one scene they are looking in the Eyesa at a view of them looking in the Eyesa. Whoa!Along the way they find some papers written by a defrocked priest named Clastier. It’s possible he had access to one of these because a series of his predictions have been unerringly accurate. All of this seems to prove Gaines' theory of a civilized race of people, who he calls the Consea, and who lived so long ago all trace of their civilization has virtually disappeared.Brandt takes us into an exciting place filled with history, mystery, intrigue and betrayal, bringing us out the other side wanting more.I would highly recommend this book to anyone with a passion for excitement. Keep your ebook charged because you won’t want to put this down.

Preceding this book in the Cosega Sequence is Cosega Search which brilliantly leads you into this novel, Cosega Storm book 2Mystery and magic and tragic melancholy all come together in this story, with Rip and Gale as partners in crime. The cost of the deaths due to the existence of the Eysen and the Odeon is astonishing. They still have half the world chasing them, the other half lying to them and most of them still wanting them dead.After a satisfying read, Book 2 of the Cosega Sequence, Cosega Storm gives you a cliffhanger hook for the following novel in the series. I am, anxious to read the remaining book 3 to reach the conclusion that Brant Legg has in stall for us.Another great story by Legg, which I recommend you read in the order of Cosega Search then this one Cosega Storm followed by the concluding book 3, Cosega Shift. I am about to do just that and looking forward to the eventual conclusion.
