Condition of book is excellent, but you have the author's name listed incorrectly. It's FEINSILVER. Great price. Glad you had this hard to find book.

My father wrote this book. His name is Rabbi Alexander Feinsilver. Whoever is trying to sell it under a different name is going to have a problem soon. Ruth Feinsilver, aka Ruth Campbell. My only compaint, for which I would rather give it only 4 stars, but I won't, is this: The Talmud is actually a very big set of books. This was only a brief compendium of what he probably thought would make the most popular as well as useful topics to discuss. He did indeed read much, much more of the Talmud himself, and probably had a hard time cutting it down. The Talmud contains some of the most remarkable discussions among different Rabbis. It was once or twice said jokingly, "Where there are 2 Jews, there will be 3 opinions." ...this is why sometimes it is actually hard to distinguish between Reform (which my father was), Conservative (somewhere in the middle between Reform & Orthodox), Reconstructionist (social-justice oriented, much like Unitarians -- and indeed, my Dad used to call Unitarians "Junitarians" - though my exception with the Unitarians, and my experience with them was that they were almost always atheists, but I did find out in talking with one Unitarian minister in San Diego that there is also a branch of Unitarians who consider themselves Christians, and not atheists) - and as I have not yet mentioned, Orthodox, who are most prevalent around here in Brooklyn; therefore so many people are misguided into thinking that this is all there is in Judaism - they largely read Torah (first 5 books of the Old Testament), Talmud, and the Chasidic read Kabbalah too. A trademark of Judaism is that they refuse to accept the divinity of Jesus. This, however, does not mean that they were responsible for his death. The Romans crucified him. And he was a Jewish Rabbi, although also the one and only incarnation of God, you might as well believe this, because there is no question about it. The Orthodox say, and I think they are right, although the Messianic Jewish movement, once so strong, in the US and even Russia, the Orthodox say that if you are a Christian, then you are a Christian, and that's that. That doesn't mean you have to disrespect the Jews or Judaism, but you do have to accept the New Testament.

Although the sections are no longer than in the other books, they seem to be more to the point somehow. Perhaps because the focus is narrower. Many of the suggested steps for the various types of disagreements are similar or exactly the same, but a lot of this is because the causes are often similar despite the differences in the situations.Some of the frequently suggested steps for resolving conflicts include apologizing, demonstrating respect, showing regret and pain, and asking for forgiveness. You will rarely make much headway in ending a conflict if you insist that you are totally in the right and that the other person must yield to your control.Additionally, he includes a better definition of respect, self-respect, and self-esteem than I have seen anywhere else. This book is good enough thatI may just keep it. After all, who doesn’t occasionally need to be able to resolve their conflicts with other people?

The advice given here will work with people who are unintelligent but basically decent. It can backfire badly with genuinely evil or cognitively defective people. The title overpromises; the author admits that nothing can work with unreasonable people.

This book has an ambitious title, and while I have some level of skepticism after reading it that the hype was actually answered in the 200-some pages that follow the cover, the book has numerous tricks and tips that will help you uncover the truth, or at least probably identify the liar in your midst.Teaching and espousing techniques such as reading body language, deliberate trust techniques, neuro-lingustic programming, confusing statements, counter-lies and other methods I would imagine that would seen more often on CSI and CIA than in business or a relationship, the book will arm the reader with many tips, tricks and techniques for uncovering the liar.The one challenge the book leaves for the reader to figure out, however, is what to do when the truth comes out. If you want simplistic solutions to complex relationship problems, then perhaps you will like this book. David Lieberman has great knowledge, but he seems to feel that 1 or 2 page solutions to major problems will satisfy his audience and actually achieve lasting results. Perhaps they do for some people, but I ended every brief chapter with a scratch of the head and a "yes, but..."

David Lieberman has written a practical book that gets down to the bottomo of addressing many personal conflicts. He understands that the real issue is Self-esteem. When a person feels his or her self-esteem threatened, conflict emerges. When a person's self-esteem is protected, conflict is lessened or resolved. The first three chapters, though short, are worth the purchase price of the book. One interesting quotation, typical of the first few chapters, reads as follows: "The barometer that determines how annoyed, frustrated, or angered we become with others in any given situation is based on the degree to which we feel in control of ourselves and our lives. Our respect for ourselves, in short, determines (a) the amount of respect we crave from others and (b) our need to push for control and dominance." Lieberman offers some very practical advice to help readers address a variety of conflict situations, providing simple but effective illustrations from real life examples. As a seasoned pastor (over 25 years in the ministry) who has been involved in all sorts of conflict situations, I have deduced a number of principles (explained clearly by Lieberman) over the years the hard way, through the school of hard knocks. Wish this book was around years earlier. On the negative side, the author makes unrealistic promises in some of the chapter's sub-titles, and even the title of the book is somewhat deceptive, "Make Peace with Anyone." Yet, in the text itself, the author clearly states that some situations have no real solutions. The book would be better if it did not promise complete success in all situations. I also have a few ethical problems with the book. Lieberman, in some instances, advocates lying. Then, in the last chapter, he claims that the Bible advocates lying to end conflict, an assertion I challenge. Relathionships that cannot espouse truth are not worth maintaining. Addtionally, when one discovers that another has lied, a greater conflict can emerge. Lieberman also encourages saying nice things about the offended person to a third party so that it gets back around. That just doesn't sit well with me. On the other hand, people do need to feel listened to and respected, and Lieberman shines in that department. It is great to ask others for advice, and that seems a more legitimate measure to show the offended party that we do indeed respect them (unless we in fact do not!). He also claims that the Bible teaches Aaron was more popular than Moses because Aaron counseled couples separately when they were having marriage problems (p.108). I have never seen anything even resembling that in Scripture; perhps he confuses the Bible with Talmudic Jewish tradition. Although Lieberman constantly reinforces his warning not to use these techniques to manipulate others or out of insincere motives, no doubt some will try. But that is not the author's fault: he seems to have a truly humble attitude; those who thusly abuse his advice will find that insincere application of his techniques will backfire. Nobody likes a weasely person. Despite its flaws, the author has great insights into the realities of human nature. A very helpful book that cuts to the core of the matter.

Together Jake and Nora chase them down. Spoiler Alert I was disappointed with two happenings in this book. One the two kids they rescued should have been adopted by Jake and Nora. Two the cow hand who had worked for Nora for years then fired by Charlie Haskins should have been given a new job by Jake. That would have given this book 5 stars from me. ☺

Another excellent story about swindle, chase, love, and justice. Bad guys get worse as the story goes along. The main characters are very appealing. I like the way C.J.Petit portrays the US Marshals. I like his portrayal of the local sheriffs and their deputies. There is a stimulating love story throughout this book. Hard to put it down. I hope you enjoy this book as much as we did.

CJP has written a western about grifters and how they operated in the old west. A beautiful woman with two men to back her up. The woman would seduce, marry and then bilk the new husband for everything. She finally met her match and ended where she belonged. This is an excellent read for the genre..... ER

This is the third Petit book I have read and they were all outstanding. Although the editing was better in this one than the first two it was still not good. The stories are so good I just don't worry about the lack of editing.

I've become a C.J. Petit fan, and this book doesn't disappoint. I read to escape, and this escape took me into the lives of good people thrown into bad situations, and rising above them to prevail and find the best of themselves. Great page-turner with interesting and developed characters, coupled with surprising plot twists. I'm still a Petit fan!

This story is very entertaining,and difficult to set aside for meals or other interruptions. The characters are very much fun to see the loving devotions, and their humor. The author has a great way to show his own sense of humor.

Jake had been taken by the beautiful woman Lucy. She had married him and then taken all of his money and sold his cattle. Now he was looking for her. She had done this many times before. Then he found a women who was also taken by Lucy's partner. Her name was Nora. They went after the crooks. And they found each other.

I gave this rating because of its unpredictable ending, for one thing. I have read hundreds of Western books, and 99% are predictable...this one wasn't. Secondly, this books characters seemed real, not the larger than Life, super heroes, that most books have. Great story development.

Book has water damage. Feels like I paid more then it was probably worth.The used description stated " 10th US hardcover edition, as listed, clean pages, good binding, overall very good except very light marking, light cover/edge/corner wear w/ bookstore stickers. With used items, access code, CD/DVD, and other supplements are not guaranteed unless stated otherwise."I would consider water damage more then light markings and not "good" shape. Will keep only due to needing it for class and not being able to wait on replacement.

Most of the material covered is fairly basic with an emphasis on fluid statics of course (constant velocity flow). I was disappointed to see apparent absence of higher level mathematics. I understand that many of the real problems in fluid dynamics/CFD are approximations of the underlying equations (Navier-Stokes, etc.). However I would like to have seen some of the simpler models of turbulent flow at the very least. The homework problems are very easy.

This book is used for my undergraduate Fluid Mechanics and Applied Fluid Mechanics courses. Like any textbook, it's a little dry and takes getting used to (page markers are essential for this one), but it does the job. I'm definitely keeping it for a long time. Product arrived on time and in good condition.

This book is great. So helpful when trying to get through fluids.

This was perfect for my Hydraulics course this fall. The paperback version seemed to match my classmates' hardcover version exactly for the material we covered, and my book was significantly cheaper. Only two complaints: the pages are pretty thin, so you have to be careful when handling individual pages (the book itself is relatively sturdy, for general student wear-and-tear) and the book wasn't shipped very carefully, so a number of the pages were folded over when the book arrived.

Thanks to this books I could convince my son that Dark Side of the Force is superior and that he should join me so we could rule the galaxy together.

This is a great collection for any Star Wars fan. The box the books comes in is very nice and sturdy. The books are all about the Jedi code and what it means to be a Jedi, and the Sith code and what that entails. Great for anyone who has a interest in the Star Wars universe and would like to know more about the force and how both sides perceive its power and responsibilities. The addition of a piece of Star Wars art is nice. As a side note this is also cheaper than buying both books, at least when I bought it, it was.

Omg I totally geeked out hardcore after getting these. The little side notes from other Jedi and Sith Lords in the margins. Such a fun collectors item. Very worth it.

They say the EU doesn't count anymore, but I'm not so sure- not when you look at books like this and films like TLJ. I think they can offer some fine clues to the last film coming up, and even if they can't, the fact that these books are literally set up as various characters making notes and leaving commentary in them is brilliant and so much fun. It's obviously where they got the idea for Rey's Survival Guide from. Definitely worth the buy.

This set is a must for any Star Wars fan. The books have amazing information in each one and the exclusive case is amazing. The individual books have high quality paper and I really like the hard cover material. I would recommend!
